How will COVID-19 impact my access to the library?

Our partner libraries at University of Georgia in Athens, Kennesaw State University, and University of North Georgia are not open nor are they lending materials at this time. As most libraries are responding in the same manner, Interlibrary Loan requests for physical materials are suspended. Digital journal articles may still be shared. If there is any material that you need please contact one of the libraries for assistance.

In response to the suspension of face-to-face classes and the public health need for social distancing, the Library at Piedmont College will be offering research assistance and support online and by phone.  The library building will be closed to the public, but we will continue to provide assistance to faculty transitioning classes online and students needing assistance with assignments requiring research materials.

This guide will continue to be updated to reflect the evolving situation, including guidance from the College administration.

The following guides might help you get the most out of the library during that time, even from off-campus. And don't forget, the librarians are here to help! You can contact us via email, chat, or phone.

Working Online

Education Research and Resources Although this guide is geared towards Education students, the tips for locating e-books and e-journal articles pertain to all disciplines, majors, and degree-levels (undergraduate, graduate, and PhD). See our individual Guide for Nursing majors. As physical books from Interlibrary Loan are suspended, the librarians are available to identify suitable online replacements for curriculum materials as well as student research.
